Please enjoy a safe and relaxing Spring Break!
Schools and offices will be closed Friday, April 18 through Friday, April 25 and reopen Monday, April 28.
Congratulations, JoLynn Prochaska of Ten Oaks Middle, our 2026 Teacher of the Year!
The HCS Summer Scholars program is a special experience that provides academic enrichment opportunities for gifted and talented students in grades 3-11.
Are you the parent/guardian of a 4 year-old (or a child who will be 4 on or before Sept. 1, 2025)?
HCS will be accepting applications for the Child Development Program for the 2025-2026 school year beginning Monday, March 24, 2025.
This FREE, full-day program gives children the educational experiences they need to be successful in kindergarten.
More than 800,000 students worldwide, including tens of thousands in South Carolina, participated in this year's READBowl, a global reading competition held between the College Football National Championship and the Super Bowl.
HCS is home to two conference-winning teams this year, marking the third consecutive year the district has fielded winning teams. Team KIDD, taught by April Kidd at Myrtle Beach Early Childhood School, won the Primary (PreK-2) Conference. Wendy Nixon’s “Nixon A4” team at Ten Oaks Middle won the Middle (6-8) Conference.
Mr. Clifford Jones, the new Superintendent of Horry County Schools, has scheduled “Coffee with Cliff” events for the remainder of the school year!
Welcome to MBECS!
